Enova SF is owned by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MPE). It was established to take a leading role in promoting environmentally friendly restructuring of energy consumption and energy generation in Norway. Enova's goal is to make it easier for public and private enterprises to choose simple, energy-efficient and environmentally correct solutions.

The next round of applications for investment support for development of wind power will be announced on 9 November 2009, with an application deadline of 29 January 2010. Enova plans two application rounds for wind power up to the expected establishment of a joint electricity certificate market with Sweden in 2012. The second application round is planned for the fall of 2010, with decisions in early 2011. more info
"Enova is very excited about playing a prominent role in the Government's work to create green jobs," says Enova's managing director, Nils Kristian Nakstad. Enova has received NOK 1.19 billion in additional subsidies through the Government's economic stimulus package. "Energy efficiency is the most important climate measure of all. That is why creating a market for passive houses by 2020 is a very important goal for Enova," says Senior advisor Anne G. Lien in Enova. "We have identified four strategies to promote the passive house concept in several areas," says Lien, who emphasises that SINTEF/Byggforsk and Husbanken (the Norwegian National Housing Bank) will be important partners in this effort. more info
